1940s Clear Crystal Necklace with Sapphire Blue Centre
This necklace was made at the end of the Art Deco period in the 1940's. It consists of three panels, two of which are in a kind of knotted pattern, with clear crystal rhinestones set into a silver tone base, and a central panel in the shape of a cut out heart with a central raised sapphire blue crystal rhinestone.

The three panels are linked together and attached to a silver tone chain which is fastened with a circular ring pull clasp.

I noticed, that the clasp is set on the opposite side to normal, so that you need to open the link with your left hand (or get someone else to fasten it for you). Since it's original I think it may have been made for a left handed woman originally. It's not a huge problem. I'm not left handed and I tried the necklace on easily enough, but I thought I'd better mention it. Great if you happen to be left handed though!

This unusual necklace is in very good to excellent condition, with all of the original stones clear and intact. There is slight discolouring to the links between the three panels, and to the clasp, due to it's age. It would be perfect for a bride or bridesmaid, or for the woman who has a special occasion coming up and wants to wear something very different.

Length: approx. 19 inches with a further 1 1/4 inches for the heart drop. The base of the heart sits just below the breastbone but above the bust, when worn.
